Finally it’s Christmas time and I’m so excited to share one of my favorite spot’s to go in Chicago to get into the holiday spirit! The Christkindlmarket is a traditional spot to visit for my friend and I since we’re both of German descent so it’s fun to connect with our culture. Even if you aren’t German it’s a great photo op to go out at night and check out all the little shops lit up. The market is set up every year by the Chicago Tribune Building and a giant untitled Picasso sculpture as seen below.
It was especially cold last night so the market wasn’t as busy, but over the weekend during the day it can get super crowded. I didn’t grab any snacks this time because I just wanted to show you how pretty it is here, but I highly recommend the hot chocolate with cute little mugs included and their potato pancakes. By the way Taylor and I were testing out her new camera so we got a more vintage vibe from this post with the graininess, but I think this spot with all the trees decorated would be adorable for some group or portrait photos!
I am absolutely obsessed with Christmas lights and this was a cute little spot! The best part about the Christkindlmarket is that admission is free so you can wander around anywhere in this cute little place and spend as much or as little as you want. That being said, if you want to take a little German Christmas spirit home I highly recommend getting one of these cute paper lights below! I have one hanging in my old room at home and it’s absolutely adorable.
I’m so excited for the holidays and I can’t wait to share all the fun things to do this season! I hope these posts can help inspire you to get into the holiday spirit and if you have a favorite holiday spot to visit in Chicago let me know in the comments!
